Glen Hoisington grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and started his years as a mechanic working on engine rebuilds at home with his brother. His first car was a dead 1969 Toyota Corona.  His parents tasked him with getting it running, and if he was successful, it would be his car to keep. Done! 

By the mid 70’s, he began educating himself in the automotive field by attending high school trade classes, tech school in Colorado, and becoming a professional mechanic by 1982.  He grew up surrounded by classic cars and personally owned eight different Camaros that he would repair and maintain himself over the years. 

Glen’s aspiration to start a shop of his own came from the understanding that certain shops he had worked for weren’t very personal or honest with their customers and focused too much on the bottom line rather than the quality of work. Glen takes pride in his trade and seeks to do right by people who trust him with the quality and safety of the vehicles they depend on. 

Thanks to the contributions of his family, Glen and his wife, Michele, opened Coastal Car Care in October, 2012. The golden rule remains at the forefront of the business; treating customers like your own family and with integrity.  Glen and Michele take great pride in their family business and the reputation it has earned over the years.

Glen brings over 45 years of experience to his shop and is well versed in building performance vehicles.  He off-roads his daily driver 4Runner “Sherpaw” and understands the needs of people trying to escape the pavement.
